We are well into Q3 2019 and so, in true Kayla fashion, today I am going to share my Q2 Income Report! In April I shared my Q1 income report, and today I am happy to say that we have only gone uphill! Not only was I able to get more up on the blog during the second quarter, the content has gotten better. Every post teaches me something new. Whether it’s something about SEO or creating pin-worthy pins, each post has been a learning experience.
And those learning experiences PAY off. Literally.
Let’s take a look back.
In Q1 2019 I upped that $22.88 to $169.09
Any guesses on what Q2 looked like?
Hitting My Goals
I was so excited to hit $100 in Q1! It gave me that extra push to keep charging ahead.
Since Sophomore year of high school, we’re heading back to 2010 people, I have wanted to make writing my career. This blog has slowly been a way for me to do that.
No, I am not making a full time income. Not even close, really. But I am so blessed in that my husband brings in enough money that I don’t need a full time income. In fact, when we got pregnant with Isaac and decided I would stay home, we didn’t count on me bringing in any money. So an extra $40-$50 a month is pretty cool!
In Q1 I decided that I wanted to add more streams of side income. In Q2 I started freelance writing, which I LOVE, and I also started to look at photography as a business (I booked my first two sessions in July!) The creative in me is bursting at the seams from the excitement and challenge of these two ventures.
In Q2 I also began to average 2k pageviews per month. This is the metric I am most proud of because I am not just writing for me. I am putting this content out into the world to hopefully make a difference for someone else through my own experiences. So if you’re reading, I’m elated!
Before I keep talking, let’s take a look at my income report for Q2:
Q2 2019 Income Report
As a disclaimer, I am including all online income. For Q2 this included Amazon Affiliate Sales, Paid Instagram Posts, and Freelancing. In 2019, I have really been trying to add to my potential for income. This has meant joining multiple affiliate programs, you can read a bit about that here, and beginning to reach out to brands for paid collaborations.
For more information on affiliate programs, see the site footer.
With that being said, I just want to put in a reminder that I will always be 100% transparent and authentic. If I am doing a paid collaboration with anyone you are sure to know and you can be sure that I am giving you my honest review and thoughts on the brand/product. I’m not feeding you a line or a sales pitch, cross my heart and hope to die.
ANYWAY. Without further ado, quarter two
Amazon Associates $45.57
Sponsored Instagram Posts $40.00
Amazon Associates: $49.51
Sponsored Instagram Posts: $30.00
Amazon Associates: $38.27
Sponsored Instagram Posts: $40.00
Q2 TOTAL INCOME: $291.35
Looking Ahead to Q3
With Q3 I am excited to say that I have been accepted to another affiliate program, RewardStyle. What this means is when I share outfits–for me or the little man–I can link to the product and if you click + purchase I can receive commission. The best part is that this costs you nothing, win-win!
To set a numberic goal, I would just love to hit 4k pageviews on the blog.
I am hoping to book another freelance writing project (I would like to hit one a month this quarter) and continue working on my photography craft + business.
And, the most exciting goal, I am going to SELF PUBLISH A NOVELLA.
*Virtual High Five*
If you are new to blogging, thinking about blogging, or just getting started, I hope you are enjoying these small income reports. I know that I LOVE reading other blogger’s first income reports. It gives me a big old grin and reminds me that this income growth is slow but steady and it CAN BE DONE!
Until next time, my friends.
